I was listening the episode 16....and in that episode Hawke made a comment that they had some 10 million downloads for the show.

It didn't actually hit me until later that 10 million is a lot. Then my right-brain started to percolate.....ok...if I divide that number by this number and I carry the 3 .......wow!

So...either that was a completely off the cuff bit of parched humor, dry would be way to wet, or you have captured the attention of roughly 2.9% of all the U.S. population...that would be substantial.

So I assuming that was a joke.

Scorba, you are right, that is a very significant number of downloads, especially for such a small site. So far the most traffic of any of my sites was when merp.com was hitting around 1.5+ million unique visitors per month. That is small by high end website standars, but fairly decent for the more specialized interest site that was merp.com.

However the download archives and mirrors at it's peak were experiencing many millions of downloads per month, those days however were many years ago, and now the site is down to a small trickle.

I couldn't recall my comment, so I will need to pull up the file to listen through it to find the comment and see if I can figure out what the context was, I assume it was some sort of sarcastic humor, because though the middle-earthradio.com website does get some traffic and downloads are ongoing, they are but a daily dribble.
